Plan oceanographic research cruise routes: place stations on a map, get automatic distance/time calculations against a deadline, and optionally share the plan live with collaborators.
Cruises are stored only in this browser, on this device - nothing is uploaded anywhere unless you turn on collaboration. That means clearing this browser's site data, switching browsers or devices, or reinstalling will lose them.
To protect a cruise you care about: regularly download it as a CSV or GeoJSON file (buttons in the planner) so you have a copy outside the browser, or turn on collaboration below - a shared cruise also lives in Firestore, giving it a backup beyond just this browser.
A cruise can be shared so multiple people see and edit the same plan live. Turn it on with the checkbox below when creating a cruise, or click 🔗 Collaborate in the header of one you already have open, then send the link it copies to your collaborators.
Current limitations: anyone with the link can view and edit - there's no login or read-only mode, so treat the link like an unlisted document link. There's no indication of who else is viewing, and simultaneous edits are last-write-wins (two people editing the same thing at once can silently overwrite each other). It requires an internet connection to sync; changes made offline stay local until you're back online. And this requires the app to have a Firebase project configured - if it doesn't, collaboration options are simply hidden.
No cruises yet - create one below to get started.
Load a demo route with 8 stations from New York to Miami
Paste the link or code someone sent you to join their cruise plan
Upload a previously exported route file (CSV or GeoJSON)
